My work develops in series. Its starting point is an archive of my own signs and forms, built up over many years. Each series explores it anew, until it has run its course or flows into the next.
PULK, since 2024
Between January and June 2024, I made one drawing a day, built from thousands of miniature images: snapshots from city walks, pictures from the news and social media. Each sheet is a record of the day it was made.
LINE UP, since 2023
Boards, planks and hinges, seemingly thrown together, lean on one another in a space without ground. Drawn entirely on the iPad, yet close to coloured pencil and watercolour.
APEX since 2018
Summit crosses from the European Alps, taken from photographs found online, cut free from their surroundings and layered into a new pictorial space.
GARAGE 2026
A space everyone knows and hardly anyone looks at. Simple volumes, flooded with dark colour like ink on wet paper; only small signals of neon green and pink break through.
AIRFIELD since 2023
Dense cores in a pale field, with lines running out into the white like terrain seen from above, painted with thousands of symbols from my archive.
PARKING LOTS since 2019
Wedges, planks and boards, set down as if without intention, float on square sheets of paper. Light, shadow and colour fit together reluctantly, and yet the construction holds.
OPEN COUNTRY since 2021
Planks, boards and wedges, stacked or upright, on small canvases. In open white space they stand like provisional structures in an empty landscape.
HUSTLE 2018–2022
Four pairs of images in magenta, yellow, green and grey, about haste, crowding and an overstimulated society. Filled to excess with image quotations, the surfaces condense into a dense mesh.
